Endless Adventure International **Please note that what rivers we will be experiencing will depend on water flows and ability of group. We WILL be paddling for 7 days and will adjust river itinerary accordingly. Day 1: The Arrival Arrive at the Quito Airport to be greeted by one of the smiling Kayak guides. A van will also be waiting to load gear and luggage which will be brought to your hotel. Guests will be left with nothing to carry but a small daypack, ideal for exploration and comfort. Day 2: Getting’ wet. Start you day with a delicious breakfast of fruits, grains, eggs, rice and beans. After loading our kayaks and gear we begin our journey to kayaking paradise, The Quijos Valley. After a short drive to San Francisco de Borja we will outfit our modern kayaks to insure a comfortable trip. We will then embark on a moderate paddle down a section of the Quijos River to work out the rust and get a taste of what is to come. We will then retire to a feast of local cuisine and trade river tales over some brews. Day 3: Travel to Tena After a hearty breakfast and specialty coffee our group will head to Tena, (Ecuador’s whitewater capital) for a mind-blowing trip down one of Tena’s many Rivers. Return to dinner and a well earned good nights sleep at Los Yutzos. Day 4: Tena Day 2 Breakfast including fruit smoothies a meal fit for champions and our famous coffee then off to another river adventure. Retire to a relaxing night of hammock swinging or working on your salsa moves at the local paddlers bar with a view of the Tena River. Day 5: Tena Day 3 Time to step up the paddling and experience the magic of Ecuadorian whitewater once again on the Tena River, be prepared to get immersed into Ecuadorian lifestyle as the banks of the Tena come to life with local communities celebrating tropical living. After a morning run we will embark on an evening jungle tour on the banks of the Napo River a source of the Amazon. Experience animals you have never seen, ancient medicinal plants, and the way of life of the indigenous people. Get a good night sleep for tomorrow we head to the Quijos valley or step it up a notch in the Tena area. Day 6: Back to Borja. OR a Final day in Tena. Day 7: The Daytripper Day 8: The Big Day- a day paddle on one or more of the continuous sections of the Quijos. Lunch will be provided on river with available snacks as well. Be prepared for a long day on the water we will shuttle back to Quito to be rewarded by a soak in the Papallacta Hot Springs at 14000 feet up. Day 9: Return to Quito Special Treat: On one of the 9 days we will be visiting a island nature reserve by dugout canoe, bring your camera and prepared to be covered in monkeys and see incredible birds. |
